• How do I submit my event to the Chamber calendar?

Chamber members can submit their events through the Chamber Member Information Center. Simply click on the Events button, click Add Event, and complete the information. You can watch this video for complete instructions.

Organizations that are not members of the Chamber can enter events here.

  • Is there a cost to submit my event?

A basic event listing is free for everyone. Chamber members receive a free advanced listing. Additional enhancements such as being featured on localyuma.com, listed in the printed edition of the calendar, or promotion through social media can be purchased at the Chamber store.

  • Where will the printed edition be distributed and how can I get my event included?

The printed edition is a trifold brochure that will be mailed out quarterly to approximately 1,000 businesses and government entities around Yuma County with additional copies distributed at the Yuma Visitor Information Center and local hotels and RV parks. Organizations can purchase a listing in the printed edition for $75 (Members) or $100 (Nonmembers) at the Chamber store. For Chamber members, this purchase also includes one post on the Chamber’s social media, and 10% off a Chamber happenings ad, Feel Good Friday email, or Good Morning Yuma soapbox. The deadlines to purchase printed edition listings are March 1 for events April – June, June 1 for events July – September, September 1 for events October – December, and December 1 for events January – March.

  • How do I get my event featured on LocalYuma.com?

Chamber members can purchase a featured listing for $150 at the Chamber store, which will not only feature their event on LocalYuma.com, but their purchase will also include everything that is included in the printed edition listed above plus a second social media post, and a complimentary soapbox at a Good Morning Yuma event or a Feel Good Friday email announcement. All benefits must be used for the same event.

  • Are there any restrictions on what events can be listed?

The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has set the following guidelines for staff when approving events.
    • The event must be held in Yuma County or on Cocopah or Quechan Tribal Lands and open to the public, no “invite only” events.
    • The events listed must not be business “events” that are part of the normal course of business (e.g., no store sales, restaurant specials outside of holidays, weekly/recurring meetings or contests, etc.). Religious services and political fundraisers for a specific candidate are also prohibited; however public/community events sponsored by a religious institution (i.e. pumpkin patch, holiday concert, etc.) are allowed.
    • Events that are a series (classes or similar) where a participant registers or signs up once for the entire series will only have the initial meeting date included on the calendar.
    • All entries for online calendar should be submitted no less than 10 business days prior to the date of the event to allow time for review and ensure posting to the Community Calendar. All entries for the printed calendar must be submitted by the following dates: December 1 for Q1, March 1 for Q2, June 1 for Q3, and September 1 for Q4.
    • No solicitations will be accepted.  Nonprofit organization fundraisers (i.e. golf tournaments, annual dinners, concerts, etc. are allowed). Community fundraisers benefiting an individual person or family generally are not allowed, but may be accepted at the discretion of the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce.
    • No individual events will be permitted on the calendar ( i.e., garage sales, birthday parties).
    • Self-posted online listings made through the Chamber website’s Member Information Center are free to Chamber members. Inclusion in the printed edition, other websites, or if a member is unable to post the listing themselves requiring the creation of a posting by Chamber staff may incur a fee.  Payment must be made prior to publication of calendar listing.
    • The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to decline event submissions. Exceptions to these guidelines may be made at the discretion of the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce.
    • The Yuma County Chamber reserves the right to limit the number of postings from any one organization and to reject any posting when deemed to be offensive, inappropriate, or not in the public’s interest or in conflict with this policy or the mission of the Yuma County Chamber.  The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce can discontinue the Community Calendar program at any time if they see a need to do so.
